DONUTMODDED← Back to libraryDonutSMP FPS and Lag: Minecraft Java Troubleshooting
Low frames and network lag feel different. A low FPS or stuttering camera points toward client rendering or hardware; delayed interactions may involve your connection or server. A performance mod cannot guarantee a fix.
Test one change at a time
- Compare FPS in the same area with the same Minecraft version and settings. Large farms, entities and shaders can change the workload.
- Try reducing render distance and disabling shaders temporarily. Check that Minecraft is using the intended graphics processor and current drivers.
- Compare a singleplayer world with the server. If interactions are delayed but frames are smooth, investigate your connection rather than adding more FPS mods.
- Update compatible mods and Fabric, then test with a smaller mod list if problems persist.
Performance mods to investigate
Sodium focuses on rendering; Lithium optimizes game logic; FerriteCore targets memory usage; and Entity Culling can avoid rendering hidden entities. Results depend on the situation and compatibility.
