Sodium for Minecraft Java Performance

Sodium is a Minecraft rendering optimization mod. Improving graphics performance can make large builds easier to navigate, although the result depends on your hardware, settings, other mods and the server.

Install Sodium

  1. Install Fabric Loader for the same Minecraft version you play.
  2. Choose a Sodium release below. The picker checks Modrinth for available Fabric versions and listed required dependencies.
  3. Move downloaded JAR files into your instance’s mods folder, then start the Fabric profile.

Performance around large farms

Try adjusting render distance and graphics settings, update graphics drivers, and compare performance with and without other mods. FPS improvements are not guaranteed. For shaders, check compatibility with the Iris release for the same Minecraft version.

If you play DonutSMP, check its current rules for every mod and feature. Availability on DonutModded is not approval by the server.
