Installation guide & TOS

Get your downloads into Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21 through 1.21.11. These instructions use the standard Minecraft game folder; third-party launchers may use a separate folder for each instance.

Downloading files

Choose your Minecraft version in the download window. The selected file and its listed required dependencies download separately. If your browser asks, allow multiple downloads; if any are blocked, use the individual file links shown in the window. Put mod .jar files in mods, shader ZIPs in shaderpacks, and resource pack ZIPs in resourcepacks. Leave JAR and pack ZIP files intact. The selected game version must match your Fabric profile.

1. Find your Minecraft folder

Windows — paste into File Explorer%appdata%\.minecraft
macOS — Finder → Go → Go to Folder~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
Linux — open your home folder~/.minecraft

If you use Prism Launcher, Modrinth App, or another launcher, open the game or instance folder from that launcher instead.

2. Install Fabric and mods

  1. Install Fabric Loader for the Minecraft Java version you selected, then run the Fabric profile once and close the game.
  2. Choose a Fabric mod and download the automatically selected required dependencies for your Minecraft version, including Fabric API if the mod requires it.
  3. Put the downloaded .jar files in the mods folder. Create it if it is missing. Do not extract the JAR files.
  4. Start Minecraft using the Fabric profile. If the game reports a missing or incompatible dependency, read that message and the mod's project page before changing files.

3. Install shaders

  1. Install Iris and its required dependencies, including Sodium, in the mods folder.
  2. Place the shader pack .zip in the shaderpacks folder. Create it if necessary; leave the ZIP intact.
  3. Launch the Fabric profile, open Video Settings → Shader Packs, and select the pack. Shader support and performance depend on your hardware and other mods.

4. Install resource packs

  1. Put the resource pack .zip in the resourcepacks folder. Leave the ZIP intact.
  2. In Minecraft, open Options → Resource Packs, move the pack to the selected side, then select Done.
  3. Read the project page for requirements: some packs need other packs or mods for all features.

Before playing on a server

Check the server’s rules before using PvP, automation, map, or visual mods. A release labeled 1.21.11 does not guarantee that it works with every mod, device, server, or anti-cheat. Avoid installing several alternatives that do the same thing at once, and back up worlds before making major changes.

Dependencies in each download window come from the selected Modrinth release. Version labels and dependency data are provided by the project authors. They are a starting point, not a guarantee of compatibility; follow the project’s installation instructions for exact versions and additional requirements.

Terms of service

DonutModded helps you find and download Minecraft mods, shaders, and resource packs. Project information and files come from their respective creators and Modrinth. Each project has its own licence and terms; check the project page before using or sharing a file.

Downloads and dependency suggestions depend on information supplied by project authors. Compatibility, availability, safety, and permission to use a mod on a particular server are not guaranteed. Check project instructions and server rules, and keep backups of your worlds.
